FAQ

FAQ

1. How long does a consultation take?

A typical consultation for a complete kitchen design in contract usually takes around 2 hours, however this is with a layout from the floor plan of the home completed, and the kitchen layout decided on. It takes 2 hours to go over most of the design features, including color, style, and accessories of the kitchen.

A free consultation with Jacob will take just one hour. You'll go over how the kitchen will be laid out and what can be done with what structural elements are currently there.

2. I had my consultation, what's next?

After the one hour consultation, Jacob will most likely to a quick layout of the updated kitchen and provide you with 3D renderings of your kitchen-to-be. You can then decide if that is going in the direction you want it to. Emails and phone calls back and forth, or another meeting, will be necessary to get all of the design elements you want included in the kitchen.

3. Will I know the cost in advance?

Yes! You'll know all costs associated with the kitchen prior to anything being final. Feel free to come up with a budget that we will strive stay within. Sometimes, people don't have a budget in mind. And that's okay! Just be sure to ask the cost as time goes on, so you can get a sense of what it's going to cost for the items that you want!

4. How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

Like most everything else, kitchen remodel costs are going to vary. There are many variables that work into the cost. Materials that you select, the size of the kitchen, the amount of intricate woodwork that you want added will all change the cost. Consider taking 10-20% of the market value of your house for the total cost of the remodel for the kitchen. A remodeled kitchen is an investment that increases the value of your home.

5. Does Hamilton only do kitchens?

No! Hamilton Kitchen Services also does bathrooms, laundry rooms, offices, and anywhere else you may need cabinetry!

6. Does Hamilton do the construction?

No, just like our parent division, Hamilton Building Services, our kitchen division does not do constructions. We are strictly a material provider. However, we do have multiple carpenter and general contractors that we can recommend for your remodeling job. If you have a general contractor already, that's great too. We'll work with them throughout the install phase for anything that they may need, cabinet-wise.

7. How long does a remodel take?

Again, there are a lot of variables that take effect here. Small bathroom or office jobs will go a lot faster than a large gourmet kitchen. The design process is big part of the time, however you can still use your current kitchen during the design phase. The typical lead time for cabinetry to be delivered is 3-4 weeks after ordering. The install time is going to vary based on the contractor. If you're getting a new counter top installed as well, that will add more time. From first consultation to finished product, you should brace yourself for at least a 2 month period.

8. What can I expect from the 3D renderings?
